About Us
Located in Board of Education District 2 and KCS Region 5, Belle Morris Elementary School has served the Knoxville community for more than a century.
Opened in 1915, the school was named in honor of Belle Morris, the first principal of the school, one of the earliest female graduates of the University of Tennessee, and one of the first women to serve on the school board. She was also a passionate advocate for racial justice and equality, and her legacy continues to inspire the work of the school today.
At Belle Morris Elementary, we strive to honor her vision by being a school where every student belongs, thrives, and is prepared for success both academically and personally.
